Over the Memorial Day weekend we took the kids to a Dodger game at Dodger stadium. Watching our home team the Dodgers play was on our 2018 Summer bucket list. Although it’s not officially Summer yet, we are still going to count it anyway and cross it off our list. The last time we saw the Dodgers play the kiddos were a bit younger and weren’t into the game what so ever. They cared more about the ballpark snacks of cotton candy and ice cream. I don’t think we even made it beyond the 7 inning stretch. What a difference a couple of years make because this time around was a whole different experience.
The weather that Sunday was perfection, warm and pleasant. We had lovely field level seats right in the shade that’s already a win in my books. Also, there wasn’t much-snacking happening, even though I packed a cooler bag of full of goodies. Everyone was just too into the game clapping and cheering loudly whenever our Dodgers got hits and home runs or when the pitcher struck someone out. So far the best baseball outing we’ve had and we are already planning at least a few more games before the end of Summer.
My little guy was living his dream day. For the past few months, he has been obsessed with all things baseball. He listens to almost every game on his handheld radio. It ‘s been such a pleasure to witness his passion unfolding. He also loves to play catch with the hubs and enjoys collecting baseball cards and reading all the stats on the back.
This day gave me a little preview of how I want our Summer days to flow like. I want it to be carefree and every day to be an adventure of both small and epic proportions. There are still three weeks of school left for me to plan some neat experiences for us. Wish me luck, I hope I can pull it off. What made this amazing day even more wonderful was that our Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres. We came and stayed for the entire game, we cheered our hearts out, and we conquered. Way to go Dodgers!
