As a family we try to adventure out and explore our beloved city as often as we can like when we went here and here. On this one particular Summer day we went to Pacific Park in Santa Monica. It’s a mini amusement park situated right on the pier. It has the perfect mix of exciting rides and carnival games to keep us entertained for a few hours. I am so glad we gave this place a visit because we did not make it to the county fair this year. At least this place has the same feel as a county fair minus the petting zoo.

We enjoyed cotton candy and soft pretzels as well as played and won a couple of those tricky games. A few things you should know if you are ever interested in going. Admission is free, you only pay for the rides you choose to go on. There is parking on the pier and/or nearby and I would check the hours on their website. We choose the Ferris Wheel, it’s a nice relaxing ride that offers beautiful views of the Southern California coastline. And will give you a bit of a thrill if you have a semi fear of heights, that would be me.

After the kids had their fix of carnival games, we headed out and got lunch at Huckleberry Cafe, a popular eatery nearby. Lunch was delicious, light and fresh. I loved my arugula, corn, avocado, and barley salad. After Lunch we made our way to Sweet Rose Creamery for some the best ice cream in town. The employee that helped us was super friendly and helpful. I also loved the fun decor. Usually dessert signifies the end of out adventure and it’s definitely not a bad way to call it a day.
